One day I was ranting to my friend about my very sucky day. I admit my problem was at the most shallow, but the response I got from my friend just left me even more pissed off. After hearing about my problem she took a very long pause to reply, but all she said was..

"You shouldn't be so sensitive. You're better off anyway with having just THAT as your problem."

I was so angry that the person I was ranting to, the person I was hoping to take my side regardless of what my problem could have been, dismissed it like I just stepped on poo or something. At that point I was thinking all sorts of things... most of them along the lines of..

Better off??? Are you kidding me when I have to worry about A and B. I constantly have to keep C in mind.. I may not be worrying about world hunger but why is my problem any less important?

But when I woke up the next day I finally cooled down enough to see what she meant.
We all have our problems, and we all have our off days. But sometimes it takes a little effort to step back and see that sometimes your problems just aren't worth worrying over. Though we can't say that we should judge how big or small or problems are in relation to the problems of others, we should at least keep in mind that no matter how down in the dumps you might be, you might still be the one better off.

If your reading this online then your already more privileged then most people on the planet.
If you have a roof over your head and a clean bed to sleep in, then your already in the lap of luxury compared to most people living in the Philippines.
If you go to school and get a worth while education then you have a good chance of securing a bright future.
If you can eat when your hungry, sleep when your tired, take a bath when you dirty, sing when you feel like singing, cry when you feel like crying, dance when you feel like dancing, and just live life then believe me when i say.. YOU ARE BETTER OFF.

So forget about something that might be weighing your head or heart down. Sometimes they end up not being worth it.
